Faith House

Has your church or house of faith been seeking ways to get involved in the community – to put your Faith into Action?

Would you like to see members of your congregation form stronger bonds with each other and the church through working together for a common cause?

The Habitat for Humanity Faith House is an opportunity for people to grow in their faith and express their faith, while showing the entire community just what true faith in God can do!

Facts about the Faith House

  1. The Faith House is a Habitat house built almost entirely by the community of Faith.

  2. All churches and religious groups are invited to participate in this project and are encouraged to partner together for a common goal.

  3. Participation can be through financial contributions and fundraising, volunteering, providing skilled services, donating building materials and supplies, providing meals for work groups, and lifting up the Faith House and Habitat in prayer.

  4. The 2008 Faith House is located at 1024 Lanvale Street in Hagerstown.

  5. Construction on the Faith House has begun.  Fundraising is ongoing.

  6. Habitat builds houses, but the true result is the changed lives of families.

  7. Faith House contributors and participants will be highlighted in a special section of Habitat’s newsletter. Sponsors of $3,000+ will be featured on signage in front of the Faith House.

  8. A house can be built by:  9 houses of faith sponsoring at $5,000 each (or 15 at $3,000 each) + donated materials and services worth $20,000 (i.e. flooring & installation, HVAC & installation, household fixtures, etc.)

  1. Faith House needs your help!

About Habitat

Habitat for Humanity of Washington County provides decent, affordable housing to families in need in Washington County.  Habitat is not a giveaway program.  Partner families must pay back a no-profit, no-interest mortgage to Habitat with low monthly payments, and must contribute 500 hours of “sweat equity” working side-by-side with volunteers and staff.  In addition to houses, families are provided skills to be successful, self-sufficient homeowners.
