Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore is a great place to find discontinued or gently used building materials for that do-it-yourself home improvement project. You may consider donating new, used, or surplus building materials and receive a tax deduction for your generosity, while keeping usable building materials out of our landfills.
ReStore proceeds go to building affordable housing for low-income families in need in Washington County. Habitat homeowners contribute hundreds of hours of "sweat equity" building their homes and pay back a no-profit, no-interest home loan.

Habitat ReStore reserves the right to refuse any donation. Please know that there are many factors that may affect this decision, including but not limited to: condition of item, available space, safety of ReStore staff and volunteers, and customer demand.
Please dispose of refused items through an alternative, responsible resource such as other local thrift stores or recycling centers.
It is hard for us to say “no thanks” to a donation, but please know that if items are not in clean, saleable condition and in good working order, the costs of handling or disposal will divert funds that would otherwise support our mission of building decent, affordable housing for deserving families in our community.
Tax Deduction Tips
It is the responsibility of the taxpayer, not the non-profit organization, to establish and defend the value of donated items. It is recommended that donors take photographs of high value donations for their own records. For more information on donating items to charities, please visit WWW.IRS.GOV. If you have further questions, please contact a qualified tax professional.
