Smithsburg Community Building Project
Dan Ryan Builders donated two lots to Habitat for Humanity of Washington County (HFHWC) on Colton Court in the neighborhood of Whispering Hills. Two homes will be built on these lots for local, hard-working, deserving families.
All churches, business, and individuals are invited to participate in this project and are encouraged to partner together for true community effort.
Participation can be through financial contributions and fundraising, providing skilled services, volunteering, donating building materials and supplies, providing meals for work groups, and lifting up the families, the project, and HFHWC in prayer.
Construction on the Smithsburg properties will start in September 2008. Due to sloped lots, initial construction will be done only by skilled volunteers. Once the homes are “under-roof” both skilled and unskilled volunteers can work on the interiors.
Fundraising has already begun. Funding for the homes is our greatest need.
